Tecmo World Soccer 96 is a popular 2D soccer game. The game has a total of 32 playable teams, each with their own starting lineup as well as scores in three attributes: speed, strength, and attack.

In attack, you can make short or long passes using buttons A and C, and button B will hit the target. In defense, you can manually change the player control with the B button or settle with the A button. Most of the time, the game is played like a traditional 2D soccer title, but when the carrier and protect players from clashing, the game turns into a one-on-one fight where you must pretend to succeed to overcome the defender.
